While my health is not really improving, things ARE looking up this month. And to follow up on my stomach issues that I mentioned in my last post, I will be having an endoscopy and a colonoscopy in a couple days. Hopefully that helps to figure it out. Never thought I’d be getting a colonoscopy at 27! Those are supposed to be for old people!

Anyway, as usual the collage links to the album on my Facebook page where you can see the photos in full(er) size and descriptions/explanations. And if you haven’t liked me on Facebook yet, you should!!

My apologies

12 Aug

I haven’t been able to keep up with much of anything recently. I got so busy at work this past week and I was sick the week before that, and I am feeling a little overwhelmed and abused lately. :(

I just got through reading everyone else’s (and their mom’s) posts, catching up on all my favorite food blogs and commenting where I felt it was warranted. I’ll try to get a couple of posts up in the next day or so.

I’m behind in EVERYTHING right now. I’m behind on the blog, in my scrapbooks, on twitter, on sleep, my bills need to be paid…ugh

Plus, Lola got fleas, and infested the house and Gwen, so I was dealing with that, and the kitchen is now filled with laundry because I was trying to wash all the clothes so that I was getting any potential flea eggs out, etc.

AND on top of all that, I found out that my great aunt – one of my favorite people – is really getting ill. I mean I know she’s getting on in years, and I know that these things happen when you get older, but it doesn’t make it any better. She’s got this lung condition, probably from all the chemicals she was around working in a beauty parlor for so many years, and then working in a JC Penny’s with a lot of asbestos. She called me, desperate to see me, so I went out there to see her with my dad and my sister, and we spent the afternoon with her on Sunday. She even went to the effort of making this huge lunch when she totally didn’t have to and I told her as much. She should be resting in her condition.

Regardless it was a nice afternoon, and my aunt and uncle stopped by with two of my cousins (the oldest of the three was in Oregon). So that was nice too.

I know this isn’t my typical post, but I just wanted you guys to know I’m aware I’ve been MIA, I’m catching up on all the things you’ve been writing too, and there should be something new in the next couple days.

Now I’ve got to get some sleep because I’m taking the truck to the Farmer’s Market in Santa Monica tomorrow and I’ve gotta go get the truck ready at 5:30, which means leaving this house at 5am, and it’s 12:30am right now. ::sigh::

On a lighter note, so I’m not totally bringing you down, I think the truck is being filmed for a TV show and I might be on it. But I’m not sure if I’m allowed to say much more, but I’ll keep you posted once I know something. :)

Goodnight for now.

OMG! THERE’S A CAT ON MY HEAD!!

8 May

So today I went to get the first round of Gardasil. You can never be too safe you know? And if I can protect myself against getting cervical cancer, why not, right? But the point is, my arm was really sore at the injection site, so I was already cranky. I mean, just brushing up against it makes me flinch.

So I’m sitting on the couch, just under the spot on the bookshelves where my cat, Gwen, likes to sit. Gwen and Lola are running around chasing each other, nothing out of the norm. They like to play. But I think Lola got a little too excited (after all she’s still just a puppy and Gwen is 6 years old) and got a little too aggressive for Gwen’s tastes. So Gwen, trying to make a quick getaway, jumps up on the couch, on to her kitty condo, and thinks she’s going for the top of the bookshelf, like normal.

She must have missed.

All of a sudden there’s a huge crash, books come toppling down, Gwen lands square on the top of my head, freaking out, claws out, scratches my shoulder –the one that’s already sore– and my boob trying to get her balance, and of course she can’t, because she’s on my head. I yell, Gwen jumps down, digs her claws as hard as possible into the top of my thigh, and then runs straight into the other room behind the baby gate where the dog cant get her.

D grabs Lola, shuts her in her crate, while I check myself for damages. I’m oozing blood from several locations, and am NOT happy about it. I’m annoyed and checking to make sure Gwen’s alright, and scolding the cat and the dog and the bookshelf and the sofa and D and anything I can until suddenly I burst out laughing.

I mean really, when you think about what happened, how could you not?? There was a cat, ON MY HEAD! The cat FELL ON MY HEAD!! D just looks at me like I’ve completely lost it. It’s quite possible. I mean, I HAD just received a blow to the head.

Lola and Gwen at play.
